RIZIN 2: Mirko Cro Cop vs Hyun Man Myung full fight video
If we think in terms of the biggest sports mismatches, it is worthwhile to mention experienced Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (31-11-2-1NC) versus the absolutely unknown and exotic Hyun Myung Man (3-2), certainly ranks low for international fans, but still makes it interesting back in Japan, where RIZIN starts their Open Weight Tournament on September 25.
According to an official statement of the Asian federation, it is the representative of South Korea who will meet with dangerous Mirko Filipovic in the first round of the World Grand Prix 2016. That would explain the almost 100% accuracy in selecting the results of fights back in the days of the legendary Pride FC. Hyun Myung Man has so far fought mostly at home and in China. Even the fact that he is coming fresh off a defeat did not prevent the tournament organisers having him fight the still-strong Filipovic, especially as Croatian presents great physical shape again after arm injury in 2015. Not long ago Mirko wrote on his fan page: "Train hard, fight easy", along with training photo, but he certainly had something else in his mind than of his Rizin future opponent.
At the same tournament fans will see the world-famous Wanderlei Silva, but unfortunately "The Axe Murderer" will join the Grand Prix in December. Silva has fought Filipovic twice in the past; the first bout ended with a draw back in 2002, and the second, in 2006, ended in favour of Cro Cop after using his razor sharp left high kick to the head. Meanwhile, a post by Cro Cop on Facebook appears to hint that Fedor Emelianenko will join Grand Prix contestants as the last fighter announced.
